The first quarter of 2021 has been an interesting period for dinosaur game enthusiasts on iOS in the United States. Sensor Tower's data offers a glimpse into how these prehistoric-themed games have fared in terms of downloads, revenue, and weekly active users.
Starting with Steve | Widget Dinosaur Game, we observed a peak in downloads at 97K during the second week of January, followed by a gradual decline to 12K by the end of March. The game's weekly active users mirrored this trend, starting strong at 242K and then dropping to 100K. Revenue trends also saw a decline from $547 to $217 throughout the quarter.
Jurassic World™: The Game from Jam City maintained a more consistent performance with its revenue oscillating around the $120K mark, peaking at $132K mid-March. Downloads saw a rise in mid-January to 24K but ended the quarter at a slightly higher 12K compared to the beginning of Q1. Weekly active users experienced a slight decrease from 94K to 84K over the period.
ARK: Survival Evolved by Studio Wildcard showed a revenue increase in mid-March, reaching $76K, with overall revenue maintaining above $54K.
